Better, she understands her client’s bodies and limitations. With her knowledge, patience, persistence,
and humor, she never gives up in her attempts to teach her clients to develop habits to improve body movements for the best possible outcomes in posture,
mobility, and good health. She continues to deepen her education and learning of new techniques in her field. I have enjoyed working with her. Mary L. Raje

“I can’t recommend Lissa enough. She’s changed my life for the better.” – Lauren A.
After breaking my leg in four places and in a cast for 16 weeks I was sent to traditional physical therapy. After months of traditional PT I realized that it wasn’t really helping as I still had difficulty returning to my normal lifestyle and was often in pain after PT sessions. That’s when I called Lissa. I have to admit that in that first session I was kind of rolling my eyes thinking how can this possibly work? Instead of “Ride the stationary bike for 15 minutes” or “Do 30 leg lifts” we did gentle movements and worked on areas of my body that I thought had nothing to do with my leg. But, amazingly, on that very first visit, I walked away moving better than I had for years. Following Lissa’s guidance over the last year and a half I feel better than I have in years. I have learned techniques that keep me more aware of my body and my movements which have made my life so much easier. I can’t recommend Lissa enough. She’s changed my life for the better.
“Thank you Lissa for making such a difference in how I live my life! It is great again!” – Sally P.
On August 15th, 2020, I ran outside to turn off the hose. After shutting off the water I caught my left foot between the hose and the pipe from the well and fell hard. I was stunned but my husband helped me up and I stayed in the house for a couple of days thinking I just had a bruised hip and that I would recover in a few days. The first week I was able to go out, and go shopping and to my regular appointments, but the second week I was not improving much so I made an appointment with an Orthopedic Surgeon for the third week. The surgeon determined I had a broken hip and a fractured femur and scheduled surgery for the next day. I had a total hip replacement and the femur was wired back in place.
The recovery was slow and many activities were very difficult. I was prohibited from bending over for a month and felt that my hip was improving but not as fast as I wanted or needed it to heal. The months went by and I reached a point where I thought this was the best it would be and that I had to just live with it. I turned 72 on New Years and was very depressed that this was how I would feel for the remainder of my life.
In March, 2021, I sent Lissa an e-mail saying “growing old sucks!” I explained what had happened and she sent me a reply to schedule an appointment with her for evaluation, which I did. After a couple of weeks of Aston Patterning I signed up for 3 months to see Lissa twice a week. After the 3 months ended, I signed up for another three months to continue the progress I was finally making. I am still seeing Lissa to improve my balance and feel “normal” again.
This was an investment that has helped me so very much. Lissa has taught me how to walk without fearing I will fall, how to pick things off the floor easily, how to sit and get up again, how to handle every day activities without being scared and changing the bad habits I have developed over all these years. After various injuries I compensated by just doing what was quick and not thinking about how I was affecting the other parts of my body. I have learned, and will continue to learn, the best ways to perform the activities I do each and every day.
Lissa has been a blessing to me and I will be thankful, and grateful, for all her hard work and for the new movements I have learned under her guidance. Aston has made a huge difference in my life, it is very valuable, and I plan on continuing my Aston education for many years.
Thank you Lissa for making such a difference in how I live my life! It is great again!
